COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

We are following guidance from the California Department of Public Health and will update our protocols as recommended.

Please note: We are striving for sustainable socializing in our educational community. Sol faculty and students will be a part of the solution and do our best to minimize the risk of spreading sickness through our classes, families, and into the community at large. We will be following the California guidelines for social distancing and utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all activities. Applicants will be screened for personal preferences and capacity to engage in both social distancing and PPE activities while enrolled. Students and staff will be screened routinely for symptoms in order to minimize the risk of contagion. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!

Face Shields & Masks

All students will be provided with face shields and face masks to meet our current activities. Face shields will be sanitized daily.

Temperature Checks

An external temperature check will be made upon arrival each day until further notice. If you are exhibiting any symptoms we ask that you stay home for the day and recommend getting a free COVID-19 test before returning.

Social Distancing

Almost all of our classes will be held outside with >6’ of distance between students and face shields and/or masks will be provided based upon the activity. When it is necessary to be indoors, our classroom space is large enough to maintain 6’ of distance between participants.

Hand Washing & Sanitizing

Hand washing stations will be made available whenever possible. As a science lesson in proper clean lab procedures, students will learn to make and use their own hand sanitizer following World Health Organization guidelines.

Small & Locals Only

We are keeping our numbers small and only accepting participants from Nevada County until further notice.

Meals

While our vision is to provide students with local, organic lunches each day, this is not in alignment with the current health risk. We are asking all students to bring their own lunches.

Training

We will be training students in proper face shield/mask and hand washing protocols.

Cleaning Protocols

We are implementing daily disinfecting protocols for all shared equipment and facilities.
